Mindkeep Privacy Policy
Updated October 2, 2026
Mindkeep is a self-directed focus app with a Screen Time connection and an island that grows from your daily outcomes. A subscription unlocks the full Mindkeep experience after onboarding. Your Screen Time selections and island progress stay on your device; Apple and RevenueCat handle subscription purchases and access.
This complete policy is bundled with the app and is available offline from privacy in onboarding, the subscription screen, and Settings.
Publisher and privacy contact
Mindkeep is published by Luke McKnight. For support or privacy questions, email ljmcknight25@gmail.com.
Screen Time and local app data
Apple's private Family Activity Picker represents selected applications, categories, and websites with opaque tokens. Mindkeep stores those tokens but does not receive their underlying application, category, or website identities from the picker. Apple documents this privacy-preserving picker at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/familycontrols/familyactivitypicker.
Mindkeep also handles the number of opaque selections; aggregate duration and threshold events for selected activities; the daily allowance and rescue preference; Screen Time authorization and monitoring state; daily success, missed, repair, and rescue outcomes; and island progress, Keeper choice, and accessibility preferences.
Selections, settings, monitoring state, outcomes, and island progress are stored locally in the Mindkeep App Group, including a local SQLite day ledger. Aggregate usage is rendered inside Apple's report extension; it is not written to the day ledger or exported to the main app. These local records provide the allowance, shield, rescue, repair, activity report, recovery, and island progression you see. Mindkeep does not transmit Screen Time selections, usage reports, day records, or island progress to the developer or RevenueCat.
Subscriptions and RevenueCat
Apple processes in-app subscriptions. Mindkeep uses RevenueCat to check subscription status, validate purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, and understand subscription performance. The app connects to RevenueCat to load subscription options and check access, including before you make a purchase. An internet connection is needed to purchase or restore and to refresh subscription information.
RevenueCat processes purchase history and subscription status, such as product and transaction identifiers, purchase and renewal dates, expiration, and refunds. It also receives a randomly generated anonymous app user ID and technical information needed to provide its service, such as app and operating-system versions, device type, locale, and currency. Purchase information is available to the publisher through RevenueCat's subscription dashboard for app functionality and subscription analytics.
Mindkeep does not require an account or send a name, email address, phone number, advertising identifier, or custom customer profile to RevenueCat. Mindkeep uses this anonymous ID instead of a personal account identifier. Apple handles your payment details; Mindkeep and RevenueCat do not receive your payment card or bank account details. RevenueCat processes subscription information on the publisher's behalf. More information: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Advertising and sharing
Mindkeep has no advertising or advertising SDK. It does not sell your data or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Subscription information is shared with Apple and RevenueCat to operate purchases and access; Screen Time and island data are not shared with those subscription services. Mindkeep does not use a separate app-behavior analytics service.
Backups, retention, and deletion
Depending on your device settings, iOS may include locally stored Mindkeep data in iCloud or computer backups. Device transfer and restore follow Apple's controls and your choices. Mindkeep does not operate a cloud sync or backup service and cannot access your backups.
Local settings, opaque tokens, day records, and island progress remain until you delete Mindkeep. Choose Delete App, not Offload App, in iOS Settings to remove local app data. Reinstalling without restoring a backup starts a new local experience. Restoring a device backup may restore Mindkeep data. To remove backup copies, use Apple's iCloud or computer-backup controls.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription or automatically erase purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account's subscription settings. Restore Purchases can restore eligible paid access after reinstalling; it does not restore island progress that was not backed up.
Subscription records are retained as needed to provide and restore access, handle support, prevent fraud, and meet applicable legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion of subscription information held on the publisher's behalf by emailing ljmcknight25@gmail.com. We may need limited purchase information to locate the anonymous record and verify the request. Do not send payment-card details, passwords, or Screen Time reports. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or disputes; Apple controls its own purchase records.
Screen Time authorization
Authorization is requested for the individual using the device. You can withdraw it in Settings > Screen Time > Apps with Screen Time Access > Mindkeep, or in Mindkeep's per-app settings by turning off Screen Time Restrictions. Withdrawing authorization stops Mindkeep's Screen Time protection and the system lifts its restrictions. The app checks authorization again when it becomes active.
Mindkeep also provides Stop protection on the subscription screen and in Settings without requiring an active subscription. This stops Mindkeep's monitoring, clears its restrictions, and withdraws its Screen Time authorization without erasing your saved island progress.
Children and availability
Mindkeep uses individual authorization for a device owner. It is not a parent-monitoring service or a Kids Category app. It does not knowingly collect children's personal information. Apple and local storefront requirements control availability and subscription eligibility. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact ljmcknight25@gmail.com.
This support website
The support website is separate from the app and is hosted with Vercel. Visiting it sends ordinary browser and network requests to the hosting service so the pages can load. No Screen Time selections, usage reports, or day records are sent to this website by the app.
The website has no contact form, advertising, or added analytics. Opening an email link uses your email application; Mindkeep does not automatically attach or send app data.
Email support and privacy requests
If you email Luke McKnight, your email address, message, and attachments are received in the support inbox hosted by Gmail and used to answer your request. This is separate from data stored locally by the app. Please do not include private Screen Time selections or usage reports.
Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle your request and retain a record of its resolution. To request deletion of support correspondence, email ljmcknight25@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information. Contact the same address to exercise those rights.
Changes
This policy was updated October 2, 2026 to describe subscriptions and RevenueCat. If Mindkeep's data practices change, this policy and its App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
